It is the dead of night. On a quiet city skyline, two famous gorillas face off. On the left, a popular mascot from the video arcade. On the right, the original great ape, the king himself. Their drive to win is powerful. They know there can be only one. And their bananas are explosive.

The artillery game Gorillas was first published by IBM in 1991. It was included with MS-DOS 5 to demonstrate the new Q-BASIC program interpreter, which introduced the children of the 90s (and some of their parents!) to coding. We will re-create this classic in Scratch, MIT’s web-based tool that brings coding to another generation. You will need an e-mail address (either your own or a parent's) in order to share your work online. Or, you can bring your project home on a USB drive or CD.
