To know: hibiscus, gladiolus, poppies, sunflowers, orchids.

Ask your mother for the first of your drawings she collected. You will have drawn a person, maybe a house, and likely some flowers: green stems with blobs of color for blooms. Flowers catch the eyes of new artists and of great artists. Some capture flowers just as they look. Some artists express the blooming beauty as their minds or heart feel it.

Let great artists share with you their art of capturing flowers. Georgia O'Keeffe will challenge you to paint glorious orchids. Andy Warhol will teach you to flatten and silkscreen hibiscus blooms. Paul Klee will teach you to reconstruct and recolor the gladiolus. Friedenscrich Hundertwasser will guide you to playful (lolli)poppies. And more. Learn new techniques. Construct a portfolio. Think about your ways of seeing. Plant some sunflowers to keep on looking.
